Male Victims of Domestic Violence by Female Perpetrators of Abuse
While domestic violence is largely believed to be a gendered issue, there are over 280 epidemiological studies on the prevalence of domestic violence that have found that more than 1 in 3 men will be victims of domestic violence in their lifetime; revealing that “men are just as likely to be victims of domestic violence at the hands of women, who often strike the first blow;” and the likelihood of severe violence, resulting in severe physical harm being done, is higher in male victims than female victims due to the use of weapons. Numbers that are believed to be grossly inadequate due to the phenomenon of under-reporting. |

Child Victims of Physical and Sexual Abuse in San Joaquin County, California *WARNING! GRAPHIC!
It is clear that there is a concerted effort by Stockton Police Department and San Joaquin County Child Protective Services to avoid taking any action on any of the reports of physical and sexual abuse made to CPS by mandated reporters, for reasons that remain unknown; and to what extent the father’s personal relationships with current and former Officers within Stockton Police Department has hindered said investigations also remains unknown. In addition, the former employment with Stockton Police Department and past supervisory role over now Sergeant Paul Bonnet of Stockton Police Departments Sex Crimes Unit, as boasted by fathers attorney, has given rise to serious and legitimate concerns about a conflict of interest that is suspected to be contributing to Sergeant Bonnet's "professional" decision that the reports made by mandated reporters and the statements made by the child about the abuse they are enduring do not warrant an investigation or forwarding the case to the San Joaquin County District Attorney's Office for criminal prosecution. |

The power and control of the batterer is reinforced in the victim when family and friends, bystanders and witnesses, all turn a blind eye to what the victim is experiencing. When calls for help are met with indifference, blame, and suspicion of the victim by law enforcement or the system as a whole the victim is conditioned, they learn, that their abuser holds all the cards, they wield all of the power because nobody is ever going to believe them, and even if they do their batterer will not face any consequences for their abuse. |

CALIFORNIA JUDGES: THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE... SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, PART ONE |
In a San Joaquin County courtroom, six-year-old Cole Marino clutches his stuffed animals, his small frame trembling as he faced a court order to reunite with the father he accused of abuse. Despite testimony from experts and Cole's own pleas, Family Court Judge Jonathan Fattarsi questioned harm "beyond sexual abuse" would occur if Cole was returned, exposing a justice system ill-equipped to protect its most vulnerable."
